Shrader Tire & Oil Collects 200+ Coats to Support Local Charities Across Three States

Shrader Tire & Oil is proud to announce the results of our 2025 Coats for the Community drive. Thanks to the generosity of our employees, customers, and partners, STO collected over 200 coats, along with dozens of hats, gloves, and scarves across all 14 STO locations.

This year’s goal was simple: support the communities we serve by keeping donations local. Every coat collected at an STO location stayed in that community — donated directly to organizations who serve families right in our own neighborhoods.

At our 5 Toledo Area Locations, Cousino Restoration & Environmental partnered with us to professionally clean the donated coats before delivery — helping us provide warm, clean, ready-to-wear winter gear for families in need.

Charities supported across our service area included:

We’re supporting 15+ local charities across Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana, helping children, families, seniors, and individuals in need. Here’s a simplified breakdown by charity:

  • Leading Families Home – Toledo, OH  –  Helping Local families in need
  • Foundation for Pops’ – Detroit, MI Area – Helping local youth and families
  • The Franciscan Center – Ft. Wayne, IN  –  Serving Families in need
  • St. Margaret’s House – South Bend, IN – Helping Families and children
  • Knights of Columbus – Warren, MI – Helping Homeless and low-income residents
  • Compassion Ministries of Milan – Ypsilanti, MI – Aiding Local families
  • St. Vincent De Paul Society of Cincinnati – West Chester, OH – Serving Families and individuals in need
  • CRIS (Community Refugee & Immigration Services) – Columbus, OH – Giving aid to  Refugees and immigrant families
  • United Way of Licking County / The Look Up Center – Heath, OH  – Helping Families and children in need
  • Neighborhood Relief Services – Lima, OH – Serving Families in need

“Collecting over 200 coats across 14 locations reflects who we are as a company,” said Joe Shrader, CEO and Owner. “We’re committed to serving the communities we operate in, and this drive shows the impact we can make when we all get involved.”

Shrader Tire & Oil recently had the honor of hosting an exclusive tour of our MRT 1 Retread Facility as part of the RIC-RIT World Remanufacturing Conference, the premier event for remanufacturing professionals from around the globe. The conference brings together industry leaders to share innovations, strategies, and best practices that are shaping the future of remanufacturing—and we were proud to show our facility as part of that conversation.

The tour was led by Bob Feldbauer, COO, Bob Watters from our Leadership Team, Jeff Szwed, MRT Plant Manager, and John Taylor, MRT 1 Manager. Attendees had the opportunity to see firsthand how Shrader Tire & Oil implements Michelin Retread Technology (MRT), combining precision, quality, and safety in every step of the process.

 

Guests toured our production lines, observed the retreading process in action, and learned about the measures we take to ensure consistent quality and reliability in every tire we produce. From the initial inspection to final finishing, our team demonstrated the technology, expertise, and commitment that make our MRT facilities stand out in the industry.

At Shrader Tire & Oil, we view retreading as more than just a cost-effective solution—it’s a sustainable, responsible approach to keeping vehicles on the road while maximizing tire life. Opening our doors to industry peers allowed us to highlight not only our capabilities but also the dedication and skill of our team that make it all possible.

Shrader Tire & Oil is officially rolling in Ypsilanti with a brand-new building—and the energy around this location is high.

We recently hosted an Open House to celebrate the move, and the turnout was fantastic. Customers, team members, vendors, and friends stop in throughout the day to check out the new space, enjoy barbecue, grab some STO swag, and see how this upgraded facility is built to serve the transportation industry even better.

Built for Speed, Efficiency & Service

The new Ypsilanti facility is designed with convenience and uptime in mind. It features:

  • 4 full drive-thru bays to keep trucks moving quickly

  • A dedicated alignment pit for faster and more accurate alignment service

  • Expanded shop capacity to improve turnaround times

  • More mechanical services on the way, making this a true one-stop service location

This location is already shaping up to be one of our most advanced and efficient service centers, and we’re just getting started.

Congratulations to Nick Shrader! Promoted to Vice President of Operations!

With 16 years of dedicated service, Nick Shrader has played a pivotal role in shaping STO’s operational success. His leadership across various internal roles and external committees has uniquely prepared him for this next step. As Vice President of Operations, Nick will oversee strategic operations, monitor performance, drive innovation and technology, and uphold our unwavering commitment to safety and compliance. Over the next year, his scope will expand to include broader responsibilities in operations and manufacturing- setting the foundation for the company’s long-term growth and financial health.

Congratulations to Nick Bilius | Promoted to Vice President of Sales & Marketing!

Nick Bilius has been a driving force in our sales organization as Vice President of Oil Sales for the past 5 years of his total 18 years with STO. His deep understanding of our products, customers, and markets, combined with experience in external commissions, makes him the ideal choice for this new expanded leadership role. As Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Nick will focus on growing sales revenue and strengthening the STO brand. His leadership will ensure alignment between sales and marketing strategies, budget management, and a laser focus on STO’s growth and market position.

Thank You to John Shrader | Owner and Now Emeritus VP of Sales

John Shrader will transition into the role of Emeritus Vice President of Sales, continuing to serve as owner and as a vital asset to our sales organization. He will support Nick Bilius through this transition and will focus on expanding strategic customer relationships. John will work closely with Jeremy Kraemer as they champion our strategic account management efforts in tires and oil, respectively- ensuring that STO continues to sell, manage and grow best-in-class products, services and solutions for our most valued partners.
