Shrader Tire & Oil Launches 2026 Coats for the Community Drive
Shrader Tire & Oil Launches “Coats for the Community” Drive This October
Shrader Tire & Oil is collecting new and gently used coats, hats, scarves, and gloves this October to help families across Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana stay warm — with every donation staying in the community where it was dropped off.
Hyperlocal, On Purpose
STO operates 14 locations across Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana, and this drive is built around that footprint. A coat donated in Lima stays in Lima, going to a charity that already serves that community. It doesn’t get pooled or shipped elsewhere — wherever you drop it off is where it does good.
Toledo Coat Drive: Professional Cleaning for Every Donation
For our five Toledo-area stores, we partner with Cousino Restoration & Environmental to professionally clean and sanitize every donated coat before it’s handed to a family — so local families get gear that’s genuinely ready to wear. Everywhere else across our footprint, donations go straight to the local charity serving that community.
Where Your Donations Are Going
We’re supporting 15+ local charities across Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana — helping children, families, seniors, and individuals in need.

A coat’s a small thing to give. For someone in one of these towns, it’s the difference between a warm winter and a hard one. Stop by any STO location this October and drop one off.
Why Shrader Tire & Oil Runs a Coat Drive
Shrader Tire & Oil has been a family-owned business serving Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana since 1948. Our trucks run through these same 14 communities every day, and this coat drive is one way we give back to the neighborhoods that keep our business moving. A coat drive built around 14 different service areas only works if it stays local — that’s the whole reason for the model. Rather than pooling every donation in one place, each STO location runs its own version of this coat drive, tied to the charity already doing the work in that town.
This is the same approach STO has taken with past community drives — find a real local need, partner with people already meeting it, and make it easy for customers and employees to help. This year’s coat drive keeps that pattern going, just with a longer runway: running the full month of October gives everyone more time to clean out closets before the cold sets in.
